Technological University (Maubin) was initially established as Government Technical Institute on November 3, 1989 at Sein Mya Kan Thar Road, Sar Yay Kone Yard, Maubin Township. Then, it was promoted to Government Technical College on May 31, 2002. After it was finally promoted to Technological University on January 20, 2007, it is situated in near Aung Hait village, about three miles to the west of Maubin, Ayeyarwaddy Division, Myanmar. The area is (50.14) acres. TU(Maubin) was under the Ministry of Advanced Science and Technology since June, 2021. It is offering 4 Engineering Degree Programmes- Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

TU (Maubin) got ISO 9001: 2015 Certificate on January 15, 2019 and then it further obtained Re-Certificate on January 14, 2022. After Myanmar Engineering Council had tested for Accreditation On-Site Visit, it received Provisional Accreditation on January 21, 2021.
